NICHOLAS PERRY: I’m calling to report missing items from my home. I’ve looked everywhere, but they’re just gone. I asked everyone and no one said they took anything. I think… I think those things took them. I can’t believe I’m saying this but maybe… I don’t know. Something’s here. What’s happening to our town? I need your help. We all do. Detective Snow, what is out-- (the line goes dead).

SFX: RingRingRingRing…

DETECTIVE SNOW: You’ve reached Detective Snow, the one and only Private Detective in East Valley. If you’re calling about those strange lights in the sky, the odd noises coming from the other sides of your fences, or the missing items from your home…you’re not alone. And I’m afraid we aren’t either. I’m on the case, but I may need your help to solve it.

SFX: BEEP.

NICHOLAS PERRY: I’m calling to report missing-

DETECTIVE SNOW: Hello! Hello! I’m here.

NICHOLAS PERRY: Detective. Thank you for picking up. I know you must be getting in a ton of calls with everything going on. I don’t even know where to begin.

DETECTIVE SNOW: The beginning is always a nice place to start. And your name.

NICHOLAS PERRY: Right. My name is Nicholas Perry. My wife Nancy and I called you earlier about missing items from our home.

DETECTIVE SNOW: What were the items again?

NICHOLAS PERRY: A stack of newspapers, a framed copy of a poem, a pocket watch, my wife’s entire marble collection, and a globe.

DETECTIVE SNOW: Were all of these items in the same room?

NICHOLAS PERRY: No, they were all over the house. The globe was in my office, the pocket watch was in my side table drawer.

DETECTIVE SNOW: And you and your wife are certain they aren’t misplaced or weren’t taken by a friend or relative?

NICHOLAS PERRY: We asked everyone. And neither of us has any memory of moving the items.

DETECTIVE SNOW: How did you discover the items were missing? They aren’t exactly similar items and they were in different places. How did you notice?

NICHOLAS PERRY: If you knew my wife, you’d understand. She is, well, she’s particular. Everything in our house is in a specific place. And when she gets nervous she wanders and paces. When all this strange activity started happening she wandered and paced all over the house and that’s when she noticed that things were missing.

DETECTIVE SNOW: Do you have pictures of each time?

NICHOLAS PERRY: I can try to find some. I know we have one of the marbles and the pocket watch.

DETECTIVE SNOW: Can I stop by your place later today? I’d like to look around.

NICHOLAS PERRY: Of course. Is there...does this have anything to do with those lights people saw and the noises people are hearing?

DETECTIVE SNOW: I don’t know yet. But I hope to find out. And I could use your help.

NICHOLAS PERRY: Anything. You’ll have our full cooperation. Thank you, Detective.

DETECTIVE SNOW: And before I forget, can you tell me your address?

NICHOLAS PERRY: It’s 19 Clover Street. Westside.

DETECTIVE SNOW: Thank you. I’ll be there as soon as I can.

SFX: Phone click.
